CER
Coordination of Research Institutions

The Coordination of Research Institutions (CER – Coordinamento degli Enti di Ricerca del Friuli Venezia Giulia) is the networking initiative of the national and international research centers, universities and scientific and technological parks in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. CER is an initiative of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

AREA Science Park is responsible for coordinating the activities of the centers belonging to the Network.
The Coordination promotes science and technology and encourages international collaborations, with an impact on the economic and social fabric of the region.

The objectives
- Enhancing research and the scientific, economic and of knowledge potential of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region for industrial and social purposes
- Strengthening the role and visibility of national and international research centers located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region
- Promoting scientific and technological dissemination and spread of Innovation.

AREA organizes the third edition of the international Symposium European Maritime Day . The 2012 event is entitled " Green and blue growth: how can we manage it?".
The event, that will be held at AREA Science Park on the 25th May 2012, is endorsed by the European Commission and represents one of the Maritime Events across Europe supported by the European Maritime Day EC initiative, at its fifth edition this year.
