| The high concentration of public and private research bodies in Friuli Venezia Giulia has led
to the creation of a regional “research-system” |
|
in order to define synergies between the know-how and activities of the various
bodies.
This system, supported by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, was set up in 2004 under the
name Coordination Network (CER) with the objective of
creating a Network of national and international research bodies with headquarters or operational
structures based in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The task of coordinator has been assigned to AREA which coordinates
public and private research
centres
in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
CER promotes science and technology and stimulates collaborations at international level,
having econimic and social impact at regional level |
Objectives
- development of an “
International
House” aimed at attratting and training researchers and at promoting a cultural
exchange between young researchers and scientists
- increase international mobility in the science sector
- enhance human capital
- support the development and the implementation of research projects
- to strengthen the links between the region’s socio-economic, scientific and industrial
entities.

Information & support
- distribution of a periodic
newsletter
- “mailing” activity focusing on specific matters of interest to research institutes
- information, assistance and training on research and technological development programmes
of the EU
- organisation of national and international scientific popularisation
events
Coordination
- development of joint research projects with the involvement of the region socio-econimic,
scientific and industrial entities.
Enhancing human capital: promotion of
The Coordination Network is constantly committed in concrete actions aimed at
enhancing inter-sectoral mobility. AREA Science Park, as coordination institution of the regional
Network, in 2005 and 2006 participated in the European Commission Working Groups (DG Research)
aimed at the dissemination of good practices concerning inter-sectoral mobility. (
