The
Business Engineering Innovation Network Competence Centre is based at the offices of the Province of Udine Manufacturers’ Association, AREA’s partner in the development of this activity.
The Centre offers assistance and services to all regional businesses to help balance supply and demand in innovation within the context of business management and organization, an area which somehow involves all production sectors.
In particular, the Business Engineering Competence Centre offers support in:
- Design and automation of logistics and production systems
- Industrialization and engineering of the product and the production process
- Planning, programming and control of industrial production
- Integrated management of the supply chain
- Management control, performance assessment and Business Process Re-engineering
The Centre can count on the scientific support of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Management and Mechanics of the University of Udine.
Some of the topics dealt with: - Design of warehouse layout and equipment
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) software
- Product traceability system based on the use of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology
- Development of a centralized information system for a business consortium
- Management system for a bulk warehouse using the LIFO (last in, first out) stock control method
- Automatic reading system for lot data printed directly on the product
- Support in setting up a network of sales outlets operating under franchise
