STARNETregio: new Liaison Offices in Slovenia and Croatia
AREA recently held a workshop, within the framework of the European project, STARNETregio,
with the objective of establishing Liaison Offices dedicated to shipbuilding and boating in
Slovenia and Croatia.
Event participants included representatives from several partner organizations of the European
project, which has the goal of strengthening international relations between numerous transregional
organizations operating in the pleasure boat and shipbuilding sectors.
The shipbuilding and boating competence centre offers regional businesses assistance and
services to help balance supply and demand in innovation within the sector of subcontracting for
the naval and pleasure boat industries.
The experience of the Centre, which was launched in 2005, represents a standard of innovation
exportable to neighbouring territories for providing sector support to the economy of the Upper
Adriatic Sea through the rational and efficient use of existing resources.
