The Coffee Industry. Analysis of the Sector, Exemplary Cases and Local Systems. The Trieste Case
The Trieste coffee industry is an economic, technical and productive system that is truly unique on the national and international scene and has made Trieste one of Europe’s coffee capitals.
However, this highly articulated business system is becoming increasingly exposed to widespread competition and is feeling the urgent need to find new ways of operating and better opportunities for development.
In order to promote an industrial vocation traditionally found in Friuli Venezia Giulia, AREA has used the Novimpresa Project to carry out a detailed study of the Trieste Coffee Industry, working together with experts from both the regional universities. Starting with the national and international coffee markets, with their dynamics and trend forecasts, and with the benchmarks created by innovative situations that have proved to be highly successful, the volume analyses the entire industry and the reasons for the current crisis. It goes on to identify some useful strategies for its relaunch.
