The best policies to support innovation and their possible implementation in Europe to the sector of what is known as “sea economy” will be the core theme of an important event organized by AREA Science Park, Italy’s main multi-sector science and technology park, in cooperation with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, to be held at the Regional Authority’s Liaison Office in Brussels - Rue du Commerce 49 - next 21 November 2007 (from 09.30 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.).

This opportunity is offered by the conclusion of the “ NOVAregio” European project which has been promoting a large debate on the best regional policies and practices to support innovation and RTD investment since January 2005, carrying out studies, publishing materials and performing actions agreed by different European regions. The idea of a new European project stands out against the many results produced by NOVAregio. “STARNETregio - STARring a trans-national NETwork of regional research-driven marine clusters” will be launched in January 2008 and will entail an operational involvement of some NOVAregio partners.
