17.12.2009 / A new Technology Park in Macedonia

A feasibility study will be conducted as a result of the agreement signed by AREA Science Park and the Municipality of Tetovo for the building of a science and technology park in Macedonia.

The Memorandum of Understanding has the ultimate goal of building a research and innovation park near Tetovo, the third largest city in the Republic of Macedonia, a project that will support local development and economic growth in a number of sectors: from transports to communication technology, from waste management to renewable energy.

The agreement is part of a consolidated AREA’s strategy to promote its system aimed at enhancing research and innovation management services, with the objective of identifying new business opportunities in the international capacity building sector, namely the development of abroad systems and facilities to support innovation, development and the competitive edge of territories and companies, while promoting opportunities for internationalisation among regional businesses.
