Enzo Moi named new General Manager of AREA Science Park
Following a thorough selection process by an internal commission including President Giancarlo
Michellone, Vice President Francesco Russo and Board Member Gianfranco Imperato, the BoD of the
Trieste AREA Science Park Consortium has nominated Enzo Moi, Mantuan, 58 years old and current
Director of the Agenzia Regionale Veneto Innovazione SpA (Regional Agency for Innovation in the
Veneto), as General Manager of AREA Science Park in Trieste.
The selection process for choosing the new General Manager involved over forty expressions of
interest and eighteen official applications by managers of science parks and public and private
enterprises from all over Italy.
Enzo Moi replaces Giuseppe Colpani, who is taking on the role of Administrative Director at
the University of Bologna.
Brief profile of Enzo Moi
Born in Mantova 16-09-1951
November 1974: degree in Political Science from the University of Padua (110 with
honours).
January 1975 – November 1977: Primary researcher at the Consortium for Economic
and Social Development in the Province of Venice (analysis and drafting of business plans) and then
at the Faculty of Economy at the University of Ca’ Foscari in Venice (research and teaching in
Political Economy and Economic and Financial Policy).
January 1977 – March 1996: first officer for the Research Office for Confindustria
Veneto, then officer for Economic Service and since January 1988 manager of the same service (area
of responsibility: economic legislation; industrial policy; credit; energy; environmental and urban
planning; research and innovation; studies and research documentation). Since January 1991 Deputy
Director of Confindustria Veneto (responsible for economic service, European Union policy,
international projects, external and press relations).
April 1996 to present: Director of the Agenzia Regionale Veneto Innovazione SpA: a
regional agency promoting innovation, technology transfer and research-industry collaboration. His
principal experience is in fields supporting the development and creation of business; marketing;
coordinating the participation of Veneto Innovazione in European projects and industry
participation in humanitarian aid programmes and international technological collaboration.
