Karma@P.A.
Knowledge, Accompaniment, Research, Monitoring and Assistance for Public Administrations.

The Karma@P.A. Project is part of an extensive and well-constructed Pilot Program co-financed by the European Social Fund and promoted by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), as part of Measure III.3 of the National Operative Program 2000-2006 “ Scientific Research, Technological Development, High-Level Training” developed for professional continuing education and training for employees of many types of Public Administrations and Entities operating in the southern regions of Italy of formerly included in Objective 1 (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Apulia, Sardinia and Sicily).

The project unfolds over four distinct lines of intervention, for an extensive ad-hoc training program (with about 5,000 learners) in the fields of:

- programming;
- planning;
- management;
- evaluation of R&D interventions.

The project is intended for people working for public entities such as Regions, Provinces, Local Entities, Universities, Research Entities and Centres, Music and Art Higher Education Institutions and Chambers of Commerce.

The MUR has also promoted a fifth line of intervention (entrusted to ATI “ Karma@P.A.”, consisting of the Censis Foundation – project leader – AREA Science Park, The London School of Economics and Political Science, Interact s.r.l.) transversal and complementary to the above. This line is developed to guarantee the widest integration and exploitation of activities and product recognition resources from other lines of action, promoting sharing and transferability of results, under a general coordinated framework of scheduled training activities.

Cross-sectional coordination and exploitation of training paths in the Pilot Program provide Karma@P.A.’s partners a variety of actions, including methodological guidance; integrative education of a select group of learners; qualitative monitoring; educational activity evaluation and auditing; study and report elaboration on the state of R&D in Italy (with particular reference to the regions of former Objective 1); creation and maintenance of a dedicated web portal.
