PATRES - Public Administration Training and
Coaching on Renewable Energy Systems
Funded by the European Commission through the
IEE – Intelligent Energy Europe
Programme ,
PATRES
involves 7 countries (Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania,
Spain)
in an integrated programme comprising training, technical assistance and coaching
addressed to local authorities and social housing bodies to support effective policies for the
introduction of RES-based systems in private and public buildings.
PATRES aims to translate such policies into the drafting or the updating of regulations for
the construction or renovation of buildings or for green public procurement procedures.
The project entails, together with the analysis of national and European best-practices and
customized training for office heads and technical officers from local authorities and social
housing bodies,
the development of 28 pilot actions which will benefit from ad-hoc professional coaching.

AREA Science Park hosted on October 20 and 21 the conference
'Renewable energies, urban planning and building regulations: the role of local authorities
in Europe'.
The event was very successful, with 180 experts, public officers and entrepreneurs from 8
European countries discussing innovative solutions coupling sustainability and socio-economic
requirements.
