"ANIMAZIONE UDINESE" Innovation strategies for the businesses located in the Udine Province
Animazione Udinese (Start-up of the Udine Province) is a project aimed at businesses based in the province of Udine and the result of the collaboration between AREA and the Udine Manufacturers’ Association, the Udine Chamber of Commerce and the Consorzio Friuli Innovazione (Consortium for Innovation of the Friuli region).
Based on of a sound knowledge of the region’s economic fabric, a “door to door” survey was carried out providing an accurate picture of the needs of the individual businesses with regard to innovation. Animazione Udinese aims to: - support the development of innovation strategies in companies based in the Udine Province to encourage their competitiveness in view of the EU enlargement. - facilitate collaboration between research and businesses, encouraging an “innovation habit” - promote the use of document and patent information as a prerequisite for innovation projects. These activities have offered an innovative mix of instruments, services, expertise and funding available to businesses, thus paving the way for the implementation of 35 innovation projects, 24 of which were co-funded by the businesses themselves. The technology transfer personnel and activities were funded by AREA Science Park. The innovation operations promoted by the project were supported by “ARGE 28 – Growing together with Europe”, the programme managed by the Udine Chamber of Commerce to support the competitiveness of SMEs in view of the EU enlargement. The equivalent of € 100,000 was allotted specifically for the Animazione Udinese project’s initiatives, with a 30% co-funding provided by the beneficiary companies.
