"ANIMAZIONE ISONTINA"
Innovation strategies for businesses located in the Province of Gorizia Animazione Isontina (Start-up of the Isontino area) is a project aimed at businesses based in the province of Gorizia and the result of the collaboration between AREA and the Industrial Development Consortium of the Municipality of Monfalcone, the Province of Gorizia, the Società Isontina Sviluppo spa (Society for the Development of the Isontino area - the area around Gorizia where the river Isonzo flows) and the Gorizia Province Manufacturers’ Union. Based on of a sound knowledge of the region’s economic fabric, a “door to door” survey was carried out providing an accurate picture of the needs of the individual businesses with regard to innovation. Animazione Isontina aims to
- support the development of innovation strategies for companies based in the Gorizia Province - facilitate collaboration between research and businesses, encouraging an “innovation habit” - promote the use of document and patent information as a prerequisite for innovation projects - paving the way for the setting up of a Competence Centre specializing in the transfer of skills and technology to businesses in two important sectors in the Isontino area: pleasure boating and naval subcontracting. These activities have offered an innovative mix of instruments, services, expertise and funding available to businesses, thus paving the way for the implementation of 26 innovation projects, 20 of which were co-funded by the businesses themselves. The overall administration of the activities was funded by an allocation totalling € 225,000. Of this, €100,000 were dedicated exclusively to the direct funding of innovation actions for the beneficiary companies, who contributed by allocating € 25,000.
