Innovative start-ups:
Innovative start-ups – almost 300 new, highly innovative businesses – employ over 1200 highly
trained personnel and generate an overall turnover of approximately 65 million euro.
Their success comes as a result of the support and mentoring provided by Italian incubators
to young researchers striving to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
These
businesses, a third of which have a
growth rate exceeding 50%, are the Italian promise that the economic crisis can be
overcome by developing Italy’s most precious assets: numerous young people with both talent and the
desire to demonstrate their skills.
The
conference, “Innovative start-ups: an opportunity for economic and employment
growth in Italy”, was held at AREA Science Park and organized by AIR (Italian Research Association)
with the collaboration of Innov'Azione and the support of the Regional Research Body Coordination
Team.
The conference aimed
to call the attention of young researchers to possible employment opportunities
and in particular send a message to a political class that does not seem to acknowledge the changes
underway in an ever shrinking world, where competition is based on ideas and innovation
skills.
T
he data presented are proof of the still largely unexpressed potential that young Italian
researchers represent for this country.
