AbstractA Spanish research centre experienced in cooling systems running on solar energy
sources offers its know-how in the design and fitting of the remote control system in solar cooling
plants. The centre has developed an original software tool with proprietary algorithms for
optimisation of these installations. They want to find an industrial partner or another research
centre for technical co-operation.
DescriptionA Spanish research centre has experience in the optimisation of solar cooling
plants. The centre has its own pilot plant where it has designed and fitted integrated control
systems for these specific plants, and as a result of these works it has developed original
software for calculating new plant structures. The prototype installation consists of a 40-m2
vacuum collector field (mounted on a solar tracking platform), a 42-m2 flat collector field, and a
35-kW absorption chiller. Several information tools and procedures to control, analyse, simulate
(building simulation through TRNSYS - Transient Systems Simulation Program), and evaluate the
system results are also an important part of it.
