AbstractTwo Saxon inventors developed a drive unit for bikes, which is characterised by a
4 pieces assembly group that replaces the foot pedal and treadle of a conventional bike. The
cyclist can sit or stand and uses all his body weight to perform with big or little step sequences
a max. hinge moment. This leads in a min. physical strain for joints and leg muscles and thus it’s
suitable for untrained people with health problems, e.g. joint or urological problems. All kinds of
cooperation are welcome.
DescriptionAn inventor team from Saxony developed a drive unit for bicycles, which is
characterised by a 4 pieces assembly group that replaces the foot pedal and the treadle of a
conventional bicycle. The cyclist can sit or stand up and uses all his body weight to perform with
big or little step sequences a maximum hinge moment. It is possible to use the step boards
alternately or concurrent. The action is similar to climbing stairs. This leads in a minimum
physical strain for joints and leg muscles. This is a big ease for in particular non athletic,
untrained or elderly people, who have problems using conventional bicycles especially over a longer
period. It is also particularly suitable for people with health problems, e.g. knee or foot joint
problems, back pains as well as urological diseases and overweight. This makes the invention
interesting for the fitness and rehabilitation sector too. It is always and easy possible to place
and replace the drive unit kit.
