Title

Title: High-performance digital video recorder (DVR) for remote viewing (Ref: 07 ES MADG 0H81 )

Deadline

Fri, January 23, 2009

Abstract

A Spanish software company based in Madrid has developed a computer-based vision solution that enables the recognition of shapes and objects on videos in real time. The company is looking for a hardware manufacturing company able to produce custom-engineered Digital Video Recorders (DVR). Commercial agreement with technical assistance is being sought.

Description

A Spanish software company based in Madrid has developed a computer-based vision solution that enables the recognition of shapes and objects on videos in real time. The technology offers a new and effective way of detecting dangerous incidents such as intruders, fires, suspicious baggage, etc. The company is looking for a hardware manufacturing company able to produce custom-engineered Digital Video Recorders (DVR) to install its software on it.
The product must comprise a stand-alone set-top box and software enabling video capture and playback to and from disk. In addition, the DVR must be ready to accept and run new software (the one provided by the company). The following options will be appreciated: image-processing operations by hardware, direct video compression and recording.
The Spanish company works in the intelligent video surveillance field; however, it also provides DVR common features (video recording, zone breaking, advanced search tools, video compression, etc.) as add-ons. These add-ons can be discussed with the DVR manufacturer, in order to optimise hardware resources. The company would appreciate if some of the features described could be done by hardware because the image recognition and video tracking software are heavily CPU-consuming. Products must comply with international specifications and quality standards relating to performance and safety.
