Title
Technology for controlled process of communal waste processing (Ref: 07 SK SKBB 0HS7 )
DeadlineTue, May 04, 2010
AbstractA Slovakian company active in the environmental sector is looking for an
environment-friendly technology for controlled process of communal waste processing. The technology
should enable acquisition of reusable materials and energy. Therefore, the company is interested in
establishing technical co-operation with companies that are able to provide this kind of
technology.
DescriptionA Slovakian SME located in the eastern part of the country, active in the environmental
sector, is looking for an environment-friendly technology for controlled process of communal waste
processing. It should totally substitute the burning process of waste disposal that is used
presently. The processing cycle should be environment-friendly without any damaging impact on
environment. The process should be quick and economical with comparison to classical methods e.g.
wastes dumps, etc. The company wishes to change traditionally used methods of waste
processing and turn to a more effective system. They want to set up new technological equipment
with use of latest knowledge and technologies in that area.
The technology thanks to controlled conditions like pressure, atmosphere and temperature
should speed up the disposal of process pollutants from a few years to a few days. It should also
reduce the area needed from a few hectares to less than 10 000 sq. m.
Emissions to air should be stopped, and primary volumes of waste should be reduced to 10-20 %
of primary volumes.
The technology should enable acquisition of reusable materials like compost and energy in the
form of biogas, which can be transformed into electric power and heat.
This will reduce electricity consumption and save costs.
According to the current regulations in Slovakia, companies producing electrical power or
thermal energy are obliged to sell the offered amount to network providers, including renewable
energy from water power plants, wind power plants, biogas obtained in the process of animal waste
processing, sewage treatment from communal waste dumps, solar cells, solar heat collectors and
others.
Thanks to applying new solutions and equipment for producing energy from communal waste, the
company will avoid having to purchase energy on the market

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements of the requestThe company is
interested in ecological technology for controlled communal waste processing that could substitute
the current processing, which includes high efficiency of the technology and attractive terms of
the technical co-operation.
The technology capacity of communal waste should be 60 000 tonnes/year.
- Biogas production 5 000 000 m3/year - it is equal to 3 200 000 m3/year normal gas.
- Production of energy from biogas 30 000 000 kWh/year.
- Production of compost 15 000 tonnes/year.
The company is interested in technical cooperation, i.e., in the development and
implementation of technology with the help of other organisations, in order to innovate the
manufacturing processes in use and its products. .
