Title

Shutters manufacturing from insulating composite panels with wood aspect (Ref: 09 FR 35k9 3DAQ )

Deadline

Thu, December 31, 2009

Abstract

A French company has developed and patented composite panels with wood aspect for house insulation and is looking for partners to manufacture shutters from these panels.

Description

A French SME has developed panels for house insulation.
The panels are made of a polystyrene core integrated in a composite layer made of glass fiber and polyester. This external skin looks like natural wood.

The company is looking for partners able to manufacture shutters from these panels.
The expected partner could be a shutter manufacturer that would like to produce and sell new products.
The partner will buy the panels, cut them at the right size, include them in aluminium profile, paint them and finally sell the shutter.

The French company could also be interested in selling its licence on this composite material to partners that would be able to bound the polystyrene core to this composite material and produce the whole shutter.

Advantages of the composite panels:
- high thermal insulation
- long life-time (glass fibers do not move)
- resistant to moisture, rot and termites
- high mechanical performance
- high impact strenght, better than PVC, aluminium and wood shutters
- look like wood panels
- no toxic fumes in case of fire (only CO2)

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements of the request

Dimensions of the panels: 2800*1500 mm
usual thickness: 25 mm (but can be adapted on demand)
weight: 5.2 kg/m2 (for 25 mm thickness)
The composite parts are processed with the sheet moldind compound (SMC) technology, and are sticked to the polystyrene with polyurethane bounding.
