IUSES
A new way of teaching energy saving in every day life

The project will promote among secondary schools students and teachers a more efficient way of using energy in every day life.
IUSES will develop a behaviour oriented educational kit including: handbooks, multimedia animations and experiment tool-kit.
Teachers and students will be actively involved in all project stages. In particular they will test the educational kit and will provide their feedback and suggestions to improve the IUSES kit.

IUSES will encourage secondary school students to adopt a more energy efficient behaviour in their purchasing and future investment decisions and in their daily demand for energy and mobility. They will take up a sustainable way of life that will improve energy efficiency without jeopardizing quality of life. Efficient use of energy lead indeed to significant money savings.

IUSES will address, in an integrated way, priority topics of the IEE program:
- energy efficiency in buildings (both private houses and public buildings, including lighting, heating, cooling, electric appliances efficiency etc.)
- industry sector (energy efficient systems, market advantages in adopting energy efficient solutions etc.)
- transports (driving style, appropriate car maintenance, travelling options etc.)
- use of renewable energy sources

The project will launch also, in all the countries involved in the project, the European Energy Saving Award that will award schools and students that improve their energy efficiency.
The winners of the national editions will participate to the European competition.
The award will include 3 categories:
- contributions from schools
- contributions from individual students
- videos

>> IUSES FOR TEACHERS
The project will develop a new educational tool kit that will help you in teaching such subjects in secondary schools.
IUSES will provide you:

Training courses:
- free training courses will be organized for those teachers willing to use and test the IUSES educational kit.

Handbooks:
- teachers handbook (describing the methodology to be applied, the use of the other tools of the kit);
- students handbooks on buildings, industry and transport.
The handbooks will be written in all the national languages of the countries involved in the project.

Multimedia animations:
- the DVD will include animations and interactive games, it will be designed to support teachers lessons and provide students self study.

Experiment tool kit:
- make the students experience the concepts learnt with simple experiments.

European Energy Saving Award
- take part to the award with your class and help your school and your students families in saving energy and money.

IUSES can help you to become an energy saving champion. You and your friends could set a new trend in Europe: enjoying learning how to save energy and money and adopt a new sustainable lifestyle.

IUSES will create for you:
- three handbooks dealing with three different topics (buildings, industry, transport) that will provide you with useful hints for everyday life.
- multimedia DVD including animations and interactive games to became a champion in energy saving
- experiment tool kit: an amusing game for you and your classmates.

IUSES educational kit will help you winning the European Energy Saving Award.
